ROE Foundation Grant

The ROE Foundation Grant was created in 1983 by a bequest from Raymond and Evelyn Sawyer of Woodinville, Washington. After the passing of Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer, the original bequest was added to as a result of the liquidation of their estate. Those monies have remained in investments since the inception of the Trust. The annual gains from investments are used to fund proposals received by the Foundation.

The purpose of the Foundation, as set out by the Sawyers, is limited to aid persons 62 years of age or older who are poor and distressed. The Sawyers had concerns for elderly individuals living in rural Eastern Washington due to the lack of comprehensive services available for them. The ROE Foundation Grant emphasizes the priority of keeping rural senior citizens in their own homes for as long as possible.

The foundation board strives to uphold the vision of the Trust and thoughtfully considers each application.
